Mastering Content Automation: Local Pages, Sitemap Rewriting, and YouTube Integration

Welcome to the final day of our three-day live training on mastering content automation with RSS Masher! Today, we're diving into some advanced features that will supercharge your content creation and distribution workflows. Get ready to explore innovative tools and strategies that make automation a breeze!

Introduction and Overview

As we kick off Day 3, I want to reflect on the "aha" moments we've experienced in this series. If you've had any lightbulb moments, give me a shout-out! We have a lot to cover today, including local pages, sitemap rewriting, the Feedly to Google Sheets method, and building YouTube video blogs. Let's get started!

Local Pages: The Power of Iframe Embeds

Local pages are a fantastic feature that utilizes iframe embeds to blend your content with authority links. This adds credibility and boosts your SEO. We’ve conducted extensive training on this, including a geek-out Friday specifically focused on bulk posting with local pages.

Local Pages Overview

To create a local page, you’ll start by entering a name and description. I recommend using AI tools like Grock to create a spun description that is unique to your content. This adds a layer of originality and freshness. You’ll also need to choose a niche and category, as well as add tags to help organize your content.

Each local page can include multiple external links in a table format, allowing your site to appear alongside high-authority sites like The New York Times or Wall Street Journal. This not only enhances visitor perception but also lends authority to your site from an SEO perspective.

Creating Your Local Page

To create your local page:

  • Select the desired template format (footer, sidebar, or HTML grid).
  • Input the number of external links you want to display.
  • Use expert authority links combined with your own static links for maximum impact.

For example, I created a local page on eSports gaming with trusted sites. To find expert links, I used AI tools to generate a CSV of authority sites in the gaming niche, which I imported into RSS Masher.

Creating Local Pages

Best Practices for Local Pages

When building local pages, consider these best practices:

  • Mix static authority links with dynamic RSS feeds from your own site.
  • Utilize schema to enhance your SEO efforts.
  • Regularly update your local pages for fresh content.

By embedding your local page in Google Sites or other high-authority domains, you can significantly increase your site's visibility and authority.

Sitemap Mashes: Repurposing Old Content

Next up is sitemap rewriting, one of our newest features. This allows you to repurpose old WordPress content using sitemaps, refreshed by AI Masher, and republished via RSS Masher. This process can help improve your site's SEO by keeping content fresh and relevant.

Sitemap Mashes

To create a sitemap mash, follow these steps:

  1. Identify the sitemap you want to use (ensure you know the correct format).
  2. Set the age limit for articles to pull from the sitemap.
  3. Use the integrated API to connect your site to the sitemap.

This allows you to keep your content updated and relevant while improving your site's SEO performance.

Feedly to Google Sheets Method

Now, let's talk about the Feedly to Google Sheets method. This allows you to curate content from Feedly and seamlessly import it into Google Sheets for further manipulation or publication via RSS Masher.

Feedly to Google Sheets

To set this up, you’ll need:

  • A Feedly account with your preferred feeds.
  • A Google Sheets document to capture the content.
  • Zapier to automate the connection between Feedly and Google Sheets.

Once you have this set up, you can easily pull new articles from Feedly, and with a few clicks, you’ll have them ready for publication!

Building YouTube Video Blogs

Lastly, we’ll cover how to turn YouTube videos into blog posts. This is a great way to repurpose video content and reach a broader audience. By embedding videos in your blog, you can provide value to your readers while driving traffic to your YouTube channel.

YouTube Video Blogs

To create a video blog post:

  1. Use the YouTube feed to pull in videos from a specific channel or search term.
  2. Embed the video along with its title, description, and thumbnail in your blog post.
  3. Consider adding local mash elements and listicles for added value.

This method not only increases engagement but also helps in building backlinks to your YouTube content.
